SkyFex Overview

Everyone who deals with computer phone support knows how useful it would be is to see what is happening on the remote computer desktop. Even power users not always can describe what is happening on their screen. Modern software has such a great number of functions and different settings, that getting lost in them is really easy. At times an expert has to spend time to find out the current situation on the remote screen, instead of working on an issue resolution. It may take up to 50%-70% from the overall support time. Modern technologies allow an expert to see what is happening on the remote computer desktop in real time. All you need is the Internet connection and a standard web browser. SkyFex service gives you such possibility. Unlike most of desktop sharing and viewing solutions like Microsoft Remote Assistance which is built-in Windows XP/2003 feature, VNC, Symantec PCAnywhere, RemoteAdmin etc. which use direct connection to remote computer, SkyFex works through dedicated SkyFex Central Server which handles all the connections acting as a "helper in the middle" or as a proxy server. All the communication between Expert and Client happens through SkyFex Central Server. Both Expert and Client have secured communication channel to Central Server.

In less than a minute the expert, logged to SkyFex service, can view the remote user desktop in real time. The user does not need any special knowledge to give remote access to his desktop. Tests showed that even the most inexperienced users had no difficulties using the service. All that the user should be able to do:

SkyFex service works transparently through any firewall and proxy. That means that neither the expert, nor the user should worry about their network configuration change and Internet access configuration. Even if the user works with the Internet through the corporate network with heavy security restrictions in place, the consultants will still be able to see his desktop anyway. The service uses outgoing HTTPS connection (Port 443 TCP), practically all companies permit this kind of connection, because it is used for secured Web site access.

Security is a baseline of any modern designed system which rely on public networks like Internet. SkyFex service is not an exception. While designing the service security and privacy issues were given special attention. All data transferred between SkyFex components are using strong 128-bit encryption and SSL protocol for communications. That is why this is absolutely impossible to intercept, compromise, spoof and see any data transmitted between the SkyFex Expert and the SkyFex User.
